Psalm 22:30-31
A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, they will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, that He has done this. Friend, Jesus' death is predicted here in this prophetic Psalm. It was written around a thousand years before Jesus would go to the cross and fulfill the many prophecies written within. We see it’s all about the redemption that God had planned for human beings from the very beginning. You see, Jesus was forsaken on the cross, so we would never have to be forsaken. He was alone on the cross, so we would never have to be alone. Jesus was judged guilty on the cross so we could be declared innocent in heaven. Jesus stood in the gap for you. It was all about His undying love for you. Is there anyone you know who you can stand in the gap for today? No, I’m not talking about you dying for anyone’s sins; only He could do that. But perhaps seeing the real need of someone around you who is heading toward eternity without a real relationship with Christ. Maybe a family member, your children, or spouse. Perhaps a coworker or an old friend who is headed down a dark path without Jesus. Friend, can I encourage you to pray for someone who doesn’t know Him today? To invite or share the gospel with someone today? Perhaps forward or post this devotional for someone and ask them to pray the prayer below. Since He stood in the gap ultimately for us, He desires we do the same for others, sharing and living out His message to a lost and dying world. Life Lesson: Jesus was judged guilty for a moment so we could be declared righteous forever. Dear Lord,
